Summary |
The contributions of Chinese to the historical and economic development of the western United States, particularly California, have been well documented. Little is known, however, about the emotional experiences of this minority group as expressed in creative literature. The early immigrants published extensively in their own language in newspapers and books in Chinatowns throughout America. However, due to inadequate archival preservation, little of their creative writing is available today. |
